Studio Theatre

The Studio Theatre is located in the Cathedral of Learning. Take elevators to Level B. Follow hallway around to the center of basement to room B-72.

From the East

Via the PA Turnpike (I-76), take Exit 6 to I-376 West. From 376 take Exit 7A, Oakland, onto Bates Street. Stay on Bates until it ends at Bouquet Street. Turn left onto Bouquet, then right at the first light onto Forbes Ave. The Stephen Foster Memorial Theatre is located a block and a half down Forbes Avenue near the corner of Bigelow Boulevard and Forbes Avenue on the left.

From the West

Via the PA Turnpike (I-76), take Exit 3 and follow I-79 South to I-279 South. (Exit to the left off I-79.) Follow 279 into the city to the I-376 Monroeville Exit. Follow I-376 to the Forbes Ave./Oakland Exit. Forbes Ave. leads to the Stephen Foster Memorial Theatre, which is located near the corner of Bigelow Boulevard and Forbes Avenue on the left.

From the North

Take I-79 South to I-279 South. (Exit to the left off I-79.) Follow I-279 South into the city, to the I-376 East Monroeville Exit. Follow I-376 to the Forbes Ave./Oakland Exit. Forbes Ave. leads to the Stephen Foster Memorial Theatre, which is located near the corner of Bigelow Boulevard and Forbes Avenue on the left.

From the South

Follow I-79 North to the I-279 North Exit. Take I-279 through the Fort Pitt Tunnels and across the Fort Pitt Bridge to the I-376 East Monroeville Exit (first exit on the right). Follow I-376 to the Forbes Ave./Oakland Exit. Forbes Ave. leads to the Stephen Foster Memorial Theatre, which is located near the corner of Bigelow Boulevard and Forbes Avenue on the left.

Directions to the Department of Theatre Arts

The department is located in the Cathedral of Learning on the 16th Floor, Room 1617. The Cathedral is located directly behind the Stephen Foster Memorial Theatre. Enter the Cathedral and take elevators to the 17th floor (elevators do not stop on the 16th floor). Take the stairway to the left and walk down one flight to the 16th floor. Go right through double doors. Turn left, then right to Room 1617. Handicapped-accessible elevators locations are clearly posted and stop at every floor.

Directions to the Theatre Box Office

The theatre box office is located on the lower level of the Stephen Foster Memorial Theatre in the lobby area of the Henry Heymann Theatre.

Parking at Pitt

Public lots are directly across the street from the Stephen Foster Memorial on Forbes Avenue or Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall across Fifth Avenue on Bigelow Boulevard. Metered parking (50 cents per hour, two-hour or four-hour maximum) is available on the streets surrounding the Cathedral (Fifth Avenue, Bellefield Avenue, Bigelow Boulevard, and avenues surrounding the Cathedral Quad).

NOTE: Metered parking is strictly enforced, so be sure to note the number of hours on the signs, and bring quarters. Handicap parking is available in the lots and at the meters.
