Pitt Rep Fall Semester auditions will be Tuesday, September 4 and Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in the Studio Theatre (basement level of the Cathedral of Learning). Sign-up sheets for auditions are posted on the lobby bulletin board on the 16th floor of the Cathedral of Learning.

The New Classics Series returns on Sunday, February 26th at 7:00 p.m. with Highness by Carolyn Kras, directed by Michael Fuller and performed in the Charity Randall Theatre.

Bruce McConachie's article, "An Evolutionary Perspective on Play, Performance, and Ritual" was recently published in the journal TDR. Here, McConachie examines "biological, anthropological, cognitive, and social/historical scholarship that investigates evolutionary adaptation, animal play, the foundations of performance, and the cognitive basis of ritual."

The students had two minutes to load in their set pieces and forty-five minutes to perform their show and remove everything from the space. Going over time meant they were disqualified from the competition.

Oct. 4 Day of Giving
For one day only -- October 4, 2011 -- The Pittsburgh Foundation will hold the annual Day of Giving from 12:00 a.m. until 11:59:59 p.m. All donations made through the PittsburghGives.org website will be matched by The Pittsburgh Foundation.

This past May, Pitt students traveled to Sweden and Denmark to take part in the 17th annual ASSITEJ Performing Arts Festival for Young Audiences. The students kept journals of their experiences.
