Theatre Professor Receives Bellet Award

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Theatre Arts is proud to announce that Annmarie Duggan, recently appointed department chair and professor of lighting and technical design, has been awarded the 2013 Tina and David Bellet Teaching Excellence Award.  Professor Duggan was selected based on her outstanding record of undergraduate teaching and the many contributions she has made to the quality of instruction in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences.

As John Twyning, the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies put it a letter to Professor Duggan, “The high quality of [Professor Duggan’s] teaching dossier and the strong letters submitted by [her] colleagues and students attest to [her] success as a teacher.  Clearly, [she has] touched the lives of many here at the University of Pittsburgh.”

The Tina and David Bellet Teaching Excellence Award recognizes outstanding innovation in teaching undergraduate studies at the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences.  Only two awards are given out each year.  Professor Duggan will be honored along with other recipients on April 3 at a special dinner.
