Ken Bolden - Teaching Artist-in-Residence
Ken grew up near Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from Duquesne University with a BA in English Literature, focusing on 17th and 18th century poets, he went to conservatory in England at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. The following twenty years were spent in New York City where he worked as an actor in regional theatre, off and off-off Broadway. During that time he held memberships with Circle East, the branch of Circle Rep that developed new works by established and emerging playwrights; Gad’s Hill Theatre Company, which focused on the work of playwright Christopher Cartmill; and for three seasons he was an Artistic Associate with the Virginia Stage Company. Since relocating to Pittsburgh, he has taught acting at the CLO Academy, Point Park College, and at the University of Pittsburgh. He has worked in all of the major theatres in the city, as well as in commercials, industrials, and a feature film.
