Special Topics in Performance: Ethnodrama-Activism Through Staging

Make Your Own Theatre - Learn the Art of Devising Original Work.

This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to ethnotheatre, which is a field of study that employs a contemporary approach to devising original theatrical works and examining historical events. Through the use of diverse source material, including but not limited to artwork, podcast interviews, journals, movies, and caricatures, students will explore various techniques for creating devised theatre.

The course will culminate in the creation of original pieces of theatre, which will be written and performed by the students. This experiential learning opportunity will allow students to apply the skills and knowledge gained throughout the course to produce meaningful works of art that reflect their understanding of the course content.

There are no prerequisites required.
