Special Topics in Theatre Design: Computer Applications

This is an introductory course in the theory, process, and techniques of computer aided theatrical drafting and rendering. Students will learn how to prepare standard theatrical drawings and paperwork like ground plans, sections, elevations, light plots, and paint elevations among others.  The focus of the course will be on teaching students to communicate design and technical ideas using digital programs such as Vectorworks and Adobe Photoshop, although the principles can be applied to any similar digital programs.
