Theatre Accessibility

Accessibility Experiencing a Show:

Assistive Listening Devices are available for patrons upon request.

Accessible seating options are available in all performance spaces. If patrons have questions regarding seating please reach out to the box office at stages@pitt.edu.

Theatre Arts provides at least one American Sign Language (ASL) and one Relaxed Performance show in each mainstage production.

A relaxed performance is a welcoming, inclusive theatre experience designed especially for those who benefit from a more flexible, sensory-friendly environment. These performances make adjustments like softer lighting or sound, a more casual atmosphere, and freedom to move about the theatre, use electronic devices, or make noise. In this way, everyone, including those with neurodiverse needs or sensory sensitivities, can enjoy the show comfortably. Whether you're attending with family, friends, or on your own, relaxed performances are all about removing barriers and making space for everyone to experience the joy of live theatre judgment-free and stress-free.

There is no assigned seating in the theatres, patrons can sit where best suits them in the venue. Because of this, we encourage guests to arrive at least a half hour early to secure your preferred seats. Patrons looking to attend in groups should contact the Box Office for information on group ticket pricing and seating in the theatres.

Ticketing:

The Pitt Theatre Arts Box Office is accessible ONLINE here! We have a live team to assist with questions. For more information on how to purchase tickets, as well as inquiries on group or other specified ticketing rates, please visit the Box Office site for details and contact information.
