A diverse crew of employees at a local sub sandwich shop called “Sub-Par” are dealing with the recent death of the owner, Raf. Raf's nephew arrives to run the shop and his "business world" tactics do not gel well with the little found family the crew has built together. The employees just want to keep Raf’s dream alive, while the nephew and local investors see “Sub-Par” as their next cash cow; as long as certain things change.
